Hostel Application for UC Non-local Students during Non-guaranteed Year in 2025-2026 opens from 29 October to 5:30pm on 15 November 2024.
Non-local undergraduates wishing to reside on campus in their non-guaranteed year have to submit hostel applications to the College as instructed. A quota will be set aside for them but they will have to compete according to the prevailing selection criteria. These will include (a) academic performance, (b) participation in extra-curricular activities and (c) participation in hostel activities.
Incomplete forms and late applications will not be considered. Please read the following “Notice to Applicants for UC Hostel Accommodation” carefully before applying.
moreTo encourage students to organise and participate in arts and cultural activities, a new scheme was kicked started. Students can plan any activity with artistic or cultural elements for College’s review, and subsidy could be provided for the event if your application is successful.
Application Details:
Students or student groups must plan to hold the event between 1 January, and 31 May2025. The winners or units will be subsidised according to their programme proposals. Expenses will be reimbursed based on actual expenses , and the winning individuals or groups must submit an activity and financial report to the College.
moreThe award is established for encouraging students to participate in the Chinese classical art activities during leisure time, discovering and cultivating talents in this field. Details of application are as follows.
Entry Submission:
Submit an entry related to traditional Chinese arts and culture with an interpretation in 200 words, including suggestions on how the College should promote this type of Chinese art.
The content and format of the entry shall include but not limited to Chinese calligraphy, literature, paper-cutting, painting, opera, dance, Guoshu, music, etc. For performance (such as dance, music, Guoshu etc.), participants must submit a performance video not longer than 20 minutes.
Yearly Awards:
Grand Award: 2 (Cash prize of HKD$ 3,000 each)
Finalists: 10 (Cash prize of HKD$ 200 each)
Application:
Students should fill in the web form and upload their artworks. The original artwork should be submitted to the Dean of Students’ Office by 20 December 2024, 12:00nn (not applicable to performance art entries). Late submission will not be accepted. moreUnited College Staff Residence is accepting new applications from 16 Oct – 8 Nov 2024. A 3-room residential flat, flat D4, around 1015 sq. ft., will be available for rental application in this round. Successful applicant will be offered an initial licence of one year and the expected move-in date is by January 2025. Allocation of the flat will be solely determined by the United College Staff Housing Committee.
Applicant must be full-time University staff affiliated with United College and both married and unmarried staff are welcome to submit their applications. Teaching staff who are not entitled to University housing subsidy may also apply for the flat. Interested staff are advised to read the below information carefully before filling out the application:

United College Social Innovation & Experiential Learning Project 2024-2025, Group Sense Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award is accepting registrations from 11 Oct 2024 to 8 Jan 2025.
It aims to promote social innovation and to initiate sustainable development of the campus and the society. Through professional training and consultation, we encourage students to think from different perspectives and turn their creative ideas into some innovative projects which could help solve some social problems. We anticipate that their projects could effectively respond to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promoted by the United Nations, and will progressively develop and contribute to the sustainable development of a harmonious society.
The champion would be awarded a cash prize of HK$10,000, and a maximum seed fund of HK$20,000 to implement the project.

After his retirement, Professor King has devoted himself to Chinese calligraphy, pursuing humanistic spirit. His calligraphy style is strong and unique, known as the “King Style Calligraphy.”

The course, provided by the Breakthrough Counseling Center, covers concepts of mental health, knowledge about mental illnesses, and available community resources. This will enable you to support those around you during their emotional lows and accompany your loved ones through tough times. Additionally, participants who complete the entire course will receive a Mental Health First Aid Course Certificate (Youth Version) issued by the Hong Kong Mental Health Association, proving they have received basic training in mental health.

moreShum Wai Yau and Kong Fook To Belt and Road First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship aims at encouraging the United College non-local Year-one students who come from Belt and Road countries and are the first generation in the family to actively participate in various college activities on campus as well as striving for study time for better academic results. Each successful applicant will be awarded HK$20,000 and the scholarship is renewable in the normative period of study for a maximum tenure of 4 years according to good academic result and conduct.
