To welcome students back to campus on the first day of the new term, United College organised the fourth annual UC Art Fair 2024. On 2 September 2024, the weather was clear with temperatures soaring to 34°C. Students gathered on campus to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, and spent joyful moments with friends. The College and student organisations arranged a series of exciting activities, not only to greet the students but also to introduce them to a variety of events and opportunities.

Game Cards

On that day, over 20 college student organisations and college-initiated programmes (including Student Wellness Programme, Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme, UC Choir, Social Innovation and Experiential Learning Project (SIEL)) set up booths in the open area outside the Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building. They put special efforts to design props and souvenirs at booths to introduce their activities to the students. Students wandered around the various booths, learning more about student organisation and college-initiated programmes, and collecting stamps to redeem gifts.

The College Management Team visited each booth to learn about the latest activities of our student societies.

Free Gelato

Students collected five stamps for a cup of XTC gelato, a renowned Hong Kong brand. With a variety of flavours to choose from, students were thrilled to enjoy this delicious treat, especially in the hot weather!

Souvenir Redemption

The College has created a special souvenir for UC Art Fair 2024: the Embroidery Keychain. Designed by Ms Audrey Yeung (ENGE/3), this unique keychain can be redeemed after collecting the required stamps. It features intricate patterns of the UC Water Tower, UC Cascade, and a manta ray, symbolising the students’ bravery in their academic and holistic pursuits. These practical and beautiful souvenirs were eagerly hung on backpacks by many students

Spin Your Wish

At the start of the new school year, each participant received a pinwheel to make their wishes. They wrote down their aspirations and goals for the upcoming year on the pinwheel and placed it in the UC Pinwheel Garden. We hoped that all the wishes written down could eventually come true. The College Management Team also joined the event, writing blessings for the students.

UC Instant Photo Booth
The highlight of the day, drawing long queues, was the UC instant camera activity! Students attended the UC Art Fair with their friends, taking photos to capture these precious memories. This year’s exquisite photo paper was designed by student designer Ms Carmen Yim (MEDU/3).
