【Mentorship Programme Update】Mentor’s Talk and Lei Yue Mun Tour
UC Shum Choi Sang Mentorship Programme Coordinating Committee organised a Mentor’s Talk and Lei Yue Mun Tour on 13 January 2024. More than 50 mentors and mentees attended the event.
The event started with a Mentor’s Talk at the Jockey Club Lei Yue Mun Plus, with Dr Luk Chi Chung (86/MEDU), the first batch of graduate of CUHK Faculty of Medicine, as the guest speaker. He shared his life on campus and his management philosophy with the audience. At the end, he used the book “The Little Prince” to encourage the participants to keep their curiosity and keep exploring the world.
After the talk, participants toured around the Lei Yue Mun Plus, an arts and cultural centre revitalized from the old school building of the Harbourfront School, which contains many historical artifacts and traces of the lives of the original residents.
The participants then visited several places in Lei Yue Mun, including the lighthouse, the Tin Hau Temple, the murals, and the remains of the quarry. Under the detailed introduction by the tour guide, mentors and mentees were able to learn more about the history of Lei Yue Mun.
This event was not only a chance to listen to Dr Luk’s insights, but also an opportunity for mentors and mentees to hang out together, interact with each other, and build stronger friendships.
