Programme Structure

Applicable to 4-Year Curriculum

All students of United College have to take 19 units of General Education courses, which include the courses required by the University and the College, respectively. For students of specifically approved professional programme (LLB), the General Education requirement is 12 units. The unit requirements of General Education courses are as follows:

For 2024-25 onwards admission cohort:

Note: Specifically approved professional programme is LLB, students only need to take 6 UGE units.

  1. For 2024-25 onwards admission cohort, upper-year entrants holding associate degrees or higher diplomas, should take GEUC1111 and one service-learning course (GEUC2211/ GEUC2212/ GEUC2214/GEUC2215), and NOT required to take GEUC4011 or GEUC4012.
  2. All UC students are required to attend a minimum of 3 College Assembly each term (GEUC1000).
  3. No exemption in College general education requirements for Advanced Standing to FYFD places.

In addition to completing the courses required by the College, students also need to complete the requirements of the University General Education Programme in the General Education Foundation (GEF) Programme and the Four Areas of University General Education requirement. Updated General Education Programme Requirement could be found in the Undergraduate Student Handbook or related websites.
