“The End”- UC Drama Club Participated in the CUHK Drama Competition 2024
The CUHK Drama Competition 2024 was held on 16, 24 and 30 October 2024 at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The United College Drama Club’s entry “The End“ was staged on 30 October 2024. The drama featured the meaning of life and how people react to their past when lives come to an end. UC Drama Club was awarded Outstanding Pre-production Award. Congratulations to the team!
The story described three people trapped in a locked room with a bomb counting down. Faced with the countdown of life, as they pondered their fate, they learnt that if one of them is shot, the others could escape; otherwise, no one would survive. He longed to make up for his regrets towards his daughter; she yearned to see the most vibrant rainbow in the world; she simply wished to escape the torment of depression and live on.
With only 45 minutes left, past scars will be laid bare. How will they cope with their situation?
“The End” is not a simple script; the entire production relies on the efforts and support of both the front and backstage teams to bring it to life on a grand stage. We hope the audience can empathise with the characters and take away even a small insight.
The production team has been busy preparing the whole month. Although the process was not easy, the friendships and memories gained during this busy time are priceless. We hope to have opportunities to collaborate with everyone again in the future.”
