The College Supports the Earth Hour 2024
The Earth Hour 2024 will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 pm on 23 March 2024 (Sat). This year’s theme is “Give an Hour for Earth”, encouraging everyone to make small changes in various aspects in daily life, such as diet, exercise, outdoor activities and entertainment, to feel connected with nature and collectively practice a green lifestyle attitude, creating a positive transformation for the Earth.
As in past years, the College will continue to support the campaign by providing minimal campus lightings during this hour. College members are encouraged to sign an online pledge (https://earthhour.wwf.org.hk/en/) to show support for the campaign.
The following lightings will be turned off during the programme:
- United College Water Tower
- The roof garden of T C Cheng Building
- 1/F podium of Chan Chun Ha Hostel
- Signage of Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building
Turning off the lights is just the beginning, we can do so much more, such as changing our lifestyle and cultivating small habits. These actions might be able to make a significant impact to the environment. Let’s work together to protect the environment!
