【UC GOAL 2024】Language Improvement Project – Culture & Chinese Language (Mandarin) Programme at Taiwan Chengchi University
The GOAL Programme and the Language Improvement Project of the United College jointly established the new Culture and Chinese Language (Mandarin) Programme with the Taiwan Chengchi University this year. The Honorary Adviser, Professor Lo Tien Chun of the Department of Philosophy, led a group of 10 College students on a trip to Taiwan from 23 to 29 June 2024.
The study tour aimed to foster exchanges between students and teachers from both United College and Chengchi University. Through immersive experiences at various locations and interactions with local people in Taipei, our students’ confidence and ability to communicate in Mandarin were significantly enhanced. During the 7-day trip, the students had the opportunity to try bamboo rice making and archery in Wulai, as well as explore tea culture by taking the gondola to Maokong.
