In light of the Government’s proposal in the policy address to increase the admission quota for non-local students at subsidised universities and to balance the accommodation arrangements for local and non-local students, the University decides that the two-year guaranteed accommodation policy will be implemented for non-local students admitted in 2025-26 and beyond. Meanwhile, the Office of Student Affairs has been actively seeking resources and methods to assist non-local students who are unable to reside on-campus during non-guaranteed years.
In addition to following the University’s policy, the UC Working Committee on Selection of Resident Students would like to conduct an open consultation on the arrangement for non-guaranteed accommodation years for non-local students. Please refer to the below document.
