Open Consultation Forums on the Appointment of the Next Head of United College
The current term of office of Professor Jimmy C M YU as Head of United College will expire on July 31, 2022. In accordance with paragraph 3 of Statute 9 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, Professor Yu has served as Head of United College for three consecutive terms with an aggregate period of ten years and is not eligible for re-appointment. In accordance with paragraph 1 of Statute 9, a Committee under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor and consisting a representative of United College Board of Trustees and 6 Fellows elected by the Assembly of Fellows, shall recommend to the University Council the appointment of the next College Head.
Ms Lina H Y YAN, Chairman of the Board of Trustees was elected on 1 July 2021 as the representative of the Board.
The Assembly of Fellows has elected the following six Fellows to serve on the Committee on 26 October 2021:

In order to get the feedback and comments from staff, students and alumni on the expectations and appointment of next Head of United College, the representative of United College Board of Trustees and six Fellows in the Committee have organised three consultation forums for all staff, students and alumni in December.
